The story...

The first piece in this collection - Solo Flow - portrays the feeling of inner connection, resilience and memories I’ve made during winter in Amsterdam.

A inner home...

I first experimenten with the mono print technique in September 2023 at the Rietveld art academy. The year of 2023 was a tumultuous year of alarming butterflies, disconnection and growth. During that time, I kept coming back to my muscle memories of Solo Flow. The physical sensation of inner stability, I build up during my ten years of tango.

Whether you dance with your body or mind, the calming nature of your inner connection comforts all who are aware and feel, I want this painting to be a reminder of that.

The creative process...

Japanese origami, firemen red ink and a vintage paper pres all made it’s way into this piece.

I was literally folding paper with staccato movements. Pausing in between, to breath, pay attentions to my whispering fingers, feeling what to do next. The experience and result couldn’t be more true to how I feel about solo flow during tango.
